The Josh Norman Musik Meister group is based out of Sleepy Eye, MN and consists of 5 talented members. The group plays German music, polkas, waltzes, and a little country music.

Josh Norman founded the Josh Norman Musik Meisters in 2019. Josh has a minor in music, was a member of the St. John’s University Men’s Choir and is the band leader, singer and tuba player. Josh has been playing the tuba for over 20 years and also plays the piano.

Don Jirak plays trumpet and taught High School Instrumental Music for 36 years, now retired, and has been a member of the New Ulm Municipal Band for 45 years with the last 25 years serving as director and has performed with many dance bands and professional organizations across southern Minnesota.

Ryan Rader is a music educator and performer from southern Minnesota. He teaches private drum and percussion lessons at Scheitel’s Music in Mankato as well as Martin Luther College in New Ulm. His performance credits include The Mankato Symphony Orchestra, Jazz 10, and The NintenTones Video Game Jazz Orchestra among many others.

Concertina player Gene Bertrand has a love of music, especially concertina, and began playing the concertina at the age of 26. Gene has been very active in providing entertainment for weddings, parties, and festivals. Gene is also the leader of the musical duo – Angela & Gene.

Angela is an immigrant from Germany and joined Gene as a vocalist in 2013; the duo provides music for German festivals and features authentic German music. Gene is the co-founder and vice-president of the Sleepy Eye Area Concertina Club in Southwestern Minnesota. The group was organized to promote the Chemnitzer concertina and allow the members to share their musical talent with the public while introducing the concertina music to the younger generations.

Tina Losleben has been playing the piano accordion for over 50 years and had the opportunity to meet her mentors Frankie Yankovich & Myron Floren. Tina has played other musical instruments, including the violin and piano. Tina also plays a variety of music in addition to polkas, waltzes and country music; these including classical, Spanish and religious music.
